Framework Partners’ Involvement

Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC)


Developed a Technology Transfer & Knowledge Dissemination Strategy including: assessment of technology transfer capacity focused on beef, beef cattle and related areas of research. Identified and assessed current gaps in technology transfer and knowledge dissemination in the beef industry. Developed long term strategies, overall framework and deliver mechanisms to enable BCRC to close these gaps and take a leading role in the Canadian beef industry.

Alberta Livestock & Meat Agency (ALMA)


Provided strategic advice, facilitation support and industry feedback analysis related to implementation planning, governance, and industry engagement for Alberta’s livestock sector. Initiated by the Minister of Agriculture, this work resulted in the development of an Alberta livestock strategy, and associated implementation plan that included the launch of a new incorporated entity (the Alberta Livestock & Meat Agency). In addition, the work encompassed designing and facilitating five industry engagement workshops that included the full-spectrum of supply chain participants from essentially all livestock sectors in the province.

Alberta Agriculture Products Marketing Council


Framework provided strategic advice, facilitation support and communication planning related to governance structures, practices and processes, and stakeholder engagement to the Alberta Agriculture Products Marketing Council and its twenty Boards and Commissions representing every agricultural sector in the province. This input was used to revise MAPA, the legislation governing all Alberta agriculture Boards and Commissions, as well as improve governance processes and practices. But the real breakthrough was the relationship established between industry and government to collaborate on opportunities and challenges facing the agri-industry. This work won the Premier’s Award of Excellence (2009).

Conducted a strategy review of the crop and livestock input business including needs based market segmentation and developed value proposition, business model, business case and business plan to strengthen the organization’s market position in the large farm sector.
